Barichara is an incredible community of people working together to weave a common future. Very few places on earth have such a density and diversity of projects working together to create a way for their town to live in harmony with nature. A place where you can feel true connection, do meaningful work and find hope.
Meet Carlos Gomez, steward of Aguasanta, who has been working for 9 years to regenerate the native forest while creating a self-sufficient organic farm:
Or Diana Reyes who has founded a bee sanctuary, educating about ecosystems and helping people reconnect with nature:
The Dancing on Cliffs program has been designed for people looking for a new path in life. For those that are ready to overcome the fear of leaving your safety nets behind and embark on an adventure. Ready to dive into a new culture, take real, on-the-ground action and rediscover the fire that burns within you. Ready to embrace hope, connect with the people around you and allow child-like excitement back into your life.

Who are we looking for?
This program is meant for people who acknowledge that humanity’s current industrialized and extractive mode of life is heading towards collapse; and instead of closing their eyes or turning towards the screen, they want to do something about it – something creative and brave. Yet, they also realize that all necessary change stems from within and are willing to do the work “to be the change they want to see in the world”. Because restoration must happen within and around, and restored systems – be them forest or people- naturally serve life.
This is an invitation for walkers on all paths, ages 25-40, to connect in the community of Barichara, where the native indigenous and all of the succeeding generations, have created a place where life-enhancing relations come first; and out of that relationality hope-giving projects, people and knowledge grow like wild plants. Join the SUNA education ecosystem where more than 30 of these projects, people and workshops come together to weave the thread of your transformative journey.
Supported
If you struggle to fund your basic needs and have limited access to resources in your family and community, or if you would not be able to access this program without a discounted payment option, consider paying at this level. We value your presence and contributions to our community and do not want any economic circumstances to be a barrier to attendance!
Sustainer
If you are able to meet your needs with relative ease while budgeting your educational and entertainment spending – for instance, you are able to take classes and eat out occasionally as long as you are mindful – consider paying at this level, which will help sustain these programs at a modest level.
Supporter
If you move through the world with financial ease and the means to fulfill many of your wants as well as your needs – you are able to eat out when you want, abundantly meet your needs through employment or can comfortably not work, have access to family wealth, own property, etc. – consider paying at this level, which will help us ensure the long term sustainability of our programs while keeping our offerings accessible to those with access to fewer resources.
